BPLC Cavalry Saddles!

You wont believe how light we ride…

In 2025 we had a big issue. Bug bites. Luisas horse could not be saddled, so BPLC took off bare back with Pete carrying all the gear. But that didn’t mean more, it meant less. Everything had to go.

500km later we could saddle Luisas horse, and we continued lighter and faster than ever before. Luisa rode at an average of 69-72kg, and Pete rode at a weight of 87-90kg. THAT IS TOTAL WEIGHT ON THE HORSE!

Pete re captured the spirit of the Australian Light horse and rode with only the essentials on both horses. LIGHT, FAST, ADAPTABLE. That’s the “Cavalry Saddle”. BPLC crushed 1750km in 55 days crossing 8 2500m+ mountain passes and averaged 40km per day all covered in under 7 hours riding. We will be taking no steps back from here, this is how we rode in the past, this is future for us, and we can put you in one for less than you think.

2350€ + tax.

What sets a “Cavalry Saddle” apart?

The “Cavalry Saddle” is easily modified to suit you. You want bigger bags locked tight into the saddle at the front… no problem. Want to switch to drink bottle holders… no problem. You can switch every bit of the saddle out with kit that suits your adventure!

It’s pretty much the same as a “Long Rider Saddle” but you have far more control. The sheep skin seat cover is removed in seconds and can be used as bedding or a pillow. You can take everything off and you’ve got a trail saddle or endurance saddle. You can make it suit you and your needs on the road effortlessly and dam fast too.

Cavalry Saddles come with 3 different options to customise the front of the saddle, “drink bottle holders, drink bottles with twin medical pouches, or large bags with med pouch” as well as rear bags and a roll bag. You can choose either a Cavalry Y girth, or twin girths as well as a breastplate and all come with biothane stirrup leathers and cage stirrups.

These things rule. BPLC will probably never ride in another saddle.
