Pure, wild and honest; Luisa and Pete consider themselves normal equestrians living out their dreams. They drink, swear, and keep it 100% real… as that's just how they are. They don't pretend to be anything they're not; a dreamer and a drunk, who ran away from society with its anxieties and expectations, to just ride off into the sunset together. Living poor, happy, and totally free; a former vegan chef, a professional hunter, and a dog called Jill travelling the world on horseback. They are neither professional, nor do they look cool; proving anyone can do this, and they hope to inspire others to follow and live their dreams no matter how crazy others think they may be!

The story so far…
Luisa and Pete meet by total chance in a park in Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia and decide to ride west together. Together with Luisas dog Jill, they end up travelling over 15,000km, 9000km of which were on horseback through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Austria, and Germany. At the end of the journey they were deeply in love, and got married in a small forest clearing in the Bavarian Forest. They now travel Europe on horseback, having covered over 20,000km on horseback, and have created a saddlery to outfit adventurers. The gear we sell is exactly the same as the gear we use, and its all made here in Germany by us with both great care, and the best raw materials money can buy. Everything is hand crafted, individually fitted to you and your horse, and we strive to provide our clients with the most durable and lightest saddles and gear on earth! Our saddles work, they REALLY work, and we’ve done things in them people view as “the trip of a lifetime” time and time again. We are adventurers first and foremost, and if better gear was out there… we would use it.
BPLC Barnwear.
BPLC Barnwear is what it is. It’s cheeky horse related gear for around the barn or on the trail. Hoodies, T’s, and odds and sods with designs by the absolutely gangster artist and long rider “Anja”. Anja is a Swiss tattoo artist and graphic designer who shares our philosophy that “ Everyone dies… not many of us really live.” So why not have a laugh, look cool while doing it, and maybe ruffle some feathers!
Our latest adventure.
2025 was an important year for BPLC as long riders. Why? Because they had not successfully completed a long ride in a while. A mix of bad luck, severe reactions to insect bites on Luisa’s horse as well as issues with his hooves, put BPLC in a position where they simply weren’t “walking the walk”. Again, insect bites were an issue, so Luisa just crushed 500km bare back while Pete carried the gear, before completing an EPIC 1750km trip through 3 countries in a mere 55 days!

Having covered 500km bareback from Bavaria to Meran Italy due to bug bites on her horses girth region, Luisa was happy to get back in the saddle to complete the last 1250km of 2025s adventure through the European Alps. Now… we look towards 2026 which we hope will finally see us ride to the low countries leaving just before Easter. The Aim is to get to the WW1 battlefields on which Pete’s family fought on 110 years prior in time for the ANZAC Day service on April 25th.
