More adventures ahead, and support really helps!

It starts with family.

At every step of our journey we have had the love and support of the Mayr and Parhofer families in Luisa’s home town of Memmingen Bavaria. They singlehandedly saved our journey from catastrophe on several occasions, and we owe them everything. But along the way we have never been alone, with locals giving us everything they had again and again in support of our madness. We have been gifted cash, food, beer, wine, food for the horses, and of course warm beds for the night. Without these incredible people both sharing in, and supporting our journey, it would not be possible.

But we are now proud to say we have “third party” sponsors, and these too are family. We have used their gear for years after paying retail, loved it, and would recommend it for free!

Swazi.

Swazi is simply the most durable outdoor gear on the market and its story inspired us to build our own gear, particularly the saddles. Frustrated at a lack of suitable clothing for winter fur trapping, the founder made his own and it was so good others wanted it too! From humble beginnings in a suburban garage… Swazi was born and we have put it through hell, with the Thar coat “pictured” Luisa wore all across Middle Asia already having 4 years of wear before being handed on to her! So, after a dozen years as a faithful retail paying customers… we asked for support.

Swazi were happy to take us on as “Brand Ambassadors” and have supplied us with gear we trust, that will keep us not just comfortable, but alive.

I’ll put it like this… us, it’s Swazi or nothing!

Fenix head torches.

Having used literally dozens of head torches throughout his career as both a soldier, hunter, and adventure, Pete has come to curse and hate head torches. Head torches turn on in your bag, the wires from the battery pack to the light break, they flop up and down, and waterproof means splash proof at best. Pete would always leave head torches with the indigenous hunters he’d meet in the remote corners of the globe and only ever regretted giving away his first Fenix head torch. Fenix torches suit us because it takes three seconds holding the button down to turn it on, so it’s very rare to turn it on by mistake. The batteries are sealed properly in such a way there’s no parts exposed that can let you down, and the torches are held in place securely but are easily adjusted. We are very proud to not only use Fenix torches, but absolutely stand by our recommendation of them!
